The Sandy Spring Museum presents the Gaithersburg Fine Arts Association with a mixed media collection including the works of Howard Cohan, teacher and artist. Also exhibited will be sculptures by Baltimore-based Barry Woods Johnston. He is an award winning sculptor recognized for larger- than- life sculptures with pieces in clay,bronze and stone. The exhibit will be held in the Farquhar Art Gallery with an opening reception on Sunday, September 28th from 2:00-4:00 pm. Live music and refreshments, Free. Hospice Caringl Inc offers free, on-going Bereavement Support Groups throughout Montgomery County for adults grieving the death of a loved one. These groups are: Adult Child Death (Gaithersburg); Anticipatory Grief (for those who are living with the knowledge that a loved one is dying - Gaitherburg); Coping with a Suicide Death (Gaithersburg); Parent-Loss (for adults who are grieving the death of one or both parents - Gaithersburg); Widows & Widowers - Under Age 50 ( Rockville);Widows & Widowers -50-65 yrs (Gaithersburg, Rockville), Widows & Widowers - 65+ (Bethesda, Gaithersburg). New Art show at the Sandy Spring Museum featuring a group show by the Potomac Thrummers Rug Hookers "Work from our Hands:Memories in Wool" and the High Country Basketry Guild with baskets made from a variety of materials.

The Sandy Spring Museum presents the Gaithersburg Fine Arts Association with a mixed media collection including the works of Howard Cohan, teacher and artist. Also exhibited will be sculptures by Baltimore-based Barry Woods Johnston. He is an award winning sculptor recognized for larger- than- life sculptures with pieces in clay,bronze and stone. The exhibit will be held in the Farquhar Art Gallery with an opening reception on Sunday, September 28th from 2:00-4:00 pm. Live music and refreshments, Free.
